Blue1USA and Carboline Coatings Co announce an epoxy liner product for carbon steel storage tanks that is compatible with diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). Independent third-party testing has been conducted with positive results that meet ISO 22241-1 standards. This product will now give Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) fleet owners, retail customers, and tank car companies an economical means for bulk storage and transport of DEF.

Effective Jan 1, 2010, the EPA has mandated that all on-road diesel engines must meet new, stricter emissions standards. The most widely accepted technology used to meet these standards is SCR, which injects DEF directly into the exhaust stream, transforming harmful nitrogen oxide emissions into harmless water vapors and nitrogen. ISO 22241-3 states that carbon steel is not compatible with DEF. But when a steel tank is properly lined with this proprietary liner, Blue1USA certifies that the DEF will continue to meet the ISO 22241 specifications.

Blue1USA manufactures and distributes DEF storage and dispensing systems for the commercial and retail markets. Headquartered in Duluth GA, it has manufacturing facilities in North Little Rock AR. Visit www.blue1usa.com for more information and to find the nearest authorized distributor.
