Neighbour Day

Neighbour Day — June 15, 2024

Neighbour Day is Calgary’s celebration of community connection. Held each year on the third Saturday in June, Neighbour Day is a step toward creating welcoming and inclusive communities where neighbours connect and belong every day of the year.

Good things happen when you get to know your neighbours. They can add a friendly visit to your day, and you can lend a helping hand when needed. Social connection with neighbours reduces loneliness and isolation and builds strong communities where people feel they belong.

Join with your neighbours on June 15 and get involved in Neighbour Day 2024!

Ideas for celebrating Neighbour Day

  • Organize a block party (permits are free) or backyard BBQ with your neighbours
  • Organize a neighbourhood sports activity or picnic in the park
  • Organize a small community clean-up using our TLC Kits
  • Lend a helping hand to a neighbour
  • Complete a My Neighbour card as part of creating a safe and caring community
  • Or another idea you have!
