Starfish Scholarships was established in 2006 to serve young people on the outskirts of Juarez, a border city in northern Mexico. The city has a population of almost 2 million people with a large percentage of them being very poor. Most young people in Juarez drop out of school after the 6th grade to help financially support their families, but the outcome is another generation stuck in poverty.

But for some young people in Juarez, a new reason to hope has emerged. Starfish Scholarships was established to help the people of Juarez and to better love our neighbors in Mexico, by helping them in Mexico where they live.

By donating just $25 a month, you can sponsor a middle school student. For $50 a month, you can sponsor a high school or college degree. Your donation transforms a life, and you’ll get to see this play out through correspondence with your student. All scholarships are responsibility managed through Arrow Outreach and donations administered through the El Paso Community Fund.

Starfish is looking for supporters and volunteers from anyone who cares about children, has a heart for humanity, wants to see a better tomorrow, or just hopes to improve relations between Mexico and US.
