Hello, I am writing to express my strong support for ARPA funding for food distribution programs (food banks/ meals on wheels, etc), community gardens, expansion of Mas Fresco More Fresh Nutrition Incentive Program, and for nutrition incentives beyond SNAP to Medi-Cal. These initiatives leverage the work being carried out by diverse organizations and residents to build a healthier and more equitable food system in partnership with the San Diego Food System Alliance. Thank you.

I'm writing to support supervisors in their allocation of ARPA funding to strengthen an equitable food system through investment in food distribution programs, community gardens and the expansion of nutrition incentives. With nearly one third of San Diegans at risk of nutrition insecurity during COVID, investing in our local food system is more important than ever before. Thank you for your support. Good evening, I'm writing to encourage you to support the ARPA budget allocation proposal. It is critical that we invest in developing a resilient, local, and equitable food system, and funds from the ARPA are an important step in ensuring this is a priority in our community. Thank you.

I am submitting this letter that I am in favor of this measure but they need to raise the amount of money being considered for Hazard Pay for all employees that put their life and their families lives on the line taking care of the public during this pandemic. This should have been a given from the start. Treat us like you treat the general population and give us compensation we deserve as we to kept this County open and running. Because guess what we are a part of that population. Thank you.

I support & request that funding allocated to The Veteran Art Project (vetart.org) to continue & expand its life changing work..
The community based arts organization serves Veterans, Active Duty, Spouses, dependents, their caregivers, and community through process-driven, Deep Arts Engagement and Art Therapy. Work is proven to help Veterans and Active Duty (some with post-traumatic stress, TBI, and MST) work through the life-changing process of transitioning from military life.

I am a member of SEIU 221, and have been a Records Clerk for San Diego County Probation since 2006. I want to request that you please use a portion of the ARPA funds for Hazard Pay for County employees. For those of us unable to telework full time, we are risking COVID via public contact Many of us also take public transportation, where it is not always possible to remain socially distant. Thank you for your time and please vote yes.

Hi, my name is Cristobal Navarrete. I am a member of ACCE. Please support item #3 investing 15 million in more legal services and education for tenants. This is important to me because an overwhelming amount of tenant, especially immigrants and low income tenants do not know their rights and they are taken advantage by landlords.

I am a member of ACCE and ISDF. Please support item #3 investing 15 million for legal services and counseling for tenants. We need to invest in a safety net for working class families. This will have a positive impact on the safety of our communities. Please invest in legal services for tenants.

I am in support of utilizing ARPA funds for Hazard pay for county workers who continued to work with the public throughout the pandemic. I personally had to continue to do regular home visits for families even after they tested positive for Covid and were quarantining. The county knowingly placed me and my family at increased risk of contracting Covid in order to continue to serve our clients.

As a protective services worker, my job is to keep children safe. This required myself and coworkers to enter homes which caused us consistent exposure. Because of my job and repeated exposure to covid I missed weddings, the birth of my nephew, and other important events. Despite all of this myself and my coworkers continued to work to keep children safe.

My job is already a high risk job and we not only deserve but are also entitled to this pay due to repeated risk we have put ourselves in.

I strongly support allocating $5M for LGBTQ+ housing and support services. 40% of youth experiencing homelessness are LGBTQ and this would be an important investment in resources to help better serve the LGBTQ unsheltered community.

    Dear Supervisors,
County workers have ensured we’ve had access to essential services throughout the pandemic. However, they have been overworked, underpaid, and unsupported. It is essential that our county’s workers are compensated equitably, and rewarded for their role in our economic recovery from the pandemic. Please support workers and their families, by funding Hazard Pay for County employees with the ARPA funds. Thank you.
