The Housing Advisory Commission has transitioned back to holding live, in-person meetings.

 

Public Comments: Public comments may be submitted to the Housing Advisory Commission in the following ways:

  • In-Person comments during the meeting. Join us for the Housing Advisory Commission meeting at the time and location specified on this agenda to make your comments. Please visit www.chulavistaca.gov/boardmeetings for current mask requirements and other safety protocols. 
  • Submit an eComment. Visit  www.chulavistaca.gov/boardmeetings, locate this meeting, and click on the comment bubble icon. Click on the item you wish to comment on, and then click on "Leave Comment." The commenting period will close one hour before the meeting. All comments will be made available to the Commission and the public.

The Commission will enact the Consent Calendar staff recommendations by one motion, without discussion, unless a Commissioner, member of the public, or staff requests that an item be removed for discussion. Communication from Commissioner Lisama and Commissioner Paddock requesting an excused absence from the August 11, 2021 Housing Advisory Commission meeting.

Staff will provide an overview of various tenant eviction and anti-harassment protection policies that the City could consider

  • Recommended Action:

    Commission review Attachment 1 and participate in discussion to provide staff with guidance for further refinement of the policies

Members of the Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) will provide a summary of the 2021 point in time count (CVCounts2021), update on the emergency shelter efforts and request for Commission participation in the shelter operator selection process

  • Recommended Action:

    Commission hear the presentation and nominate one or two commissioners to participate on the shelter operator request for proposal (RFP) selection panel

Housing staff will provide an overview of the recently adopted Council Policy to guide the application process for a new financing tool to create moderate income rental opportunities
