New Media Statement Released by CCDPH on NYE
Shortly after our last email to you on New Year's Eve, Cook County Department of Public Health released a media statement. This statement clarified the vaccine requirements within Mitigation Order 2021-11 will not apply to individuals 18 or younger who are participating in youth sports or recreation programming. Additionally, spectators of indoor sporting events are exempt from this order, provided food and drink are not served and spectators are required to wear masks. An updated order and guidance are to be issued today, January 3, according to the statement from CCDPH. At the time we are sending this email, no additional updates have been released yet. If you have additional questions or concerns about Cook County’s Mitigation Order, you can contact Cook County at healthycook@cookcountyhhs.org.

Grace Period for Implementation
As we stated in our last communication, the Park District will be implementing a 7-day grace period for vaccination requirement. We will not be requiring proof of vaccination at any of our facilities until January 10. We are working diligently to keep you informed as the CCDPH continues to clarify and adjust their Mitigation Orders and anticipate there may be additional changes throughout the week.

We appreciate your kindness to and patience with our staff during this time. CCDPH has authority over the Glenview Park District under the Illinois constitution and state statutes. Please know we are working as quickly as we can to understand these orders and provide you with as much information as possible given the short implementation timeline.

We will release a complete list of activities clarifying what is and is not impacted by
Mitigation Order 2021-11 later this week.

Local, county, state and CDC guidance and regulations change frequently. The Glenview Park District is monitoring and following all guidance provided by the health experts and epidemiologists. We will continue to review and evaluate the mitigation guidance being provided by Cook County Department of Health and communicate updates as we have them. When guidance and requirements change, the Glenview Park District may need time to fully review and communicate any changes to patrons and staff. See our regional metrics.
