A Day in Our Village set for Sunday, June 4

May 25, 2023 - Diversity and community involvement are two of Oak Park’s hallmarks, and both will be celebrated at the 49th annual A Day in Our Village festival on Sunday, June 4.

More than 120 information and activity booths representing Oak Park civic, cultural, social service, educational, religious and business organizations will fill Scoville Park at Lake Street and Oak Park Avenue from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will be more family friendly than ever with the Park District of Oak Park hosting activities for kids on site in Scoville Park.

A gyroscope human space ball, hula hoop toss game and gaga ball pit are just a few of the Park District's attractions for kids that will be located near the tennis courts at the north end of the park rather than at a separate site as in years past.

This year’s music entertainment features a lineup that includes several tribute bands. The Teolis Sisters start things off at 11:10 a.m. followed by All My Brothers Band at 11:30 a.m. Irish Dancers are next at 12:15 p.m. followed by American Prayer Band at 12:45 p.m. The Great Pretenders take the stage at 2 p.m. followed by Midnight Sun at 3:30 p.m.

The food court at A Day in Our Village located on the plaza outside the main library will feature food and drinks from Taco Mucho, Scratch on Lake, Domino's Pizza, Do Not Forget Your Lunch Box, Candycopia and Brown Cow Ice Cream.

A Day in our Village is organized and sponsored by the Village and made possible thanks to support from the A Day in Our Village volunteer committee.
