Cross Cutting Theme: Interprofessionalism

The interprofessionalism theme is supported by the Centre for Advancing Collaborative Healthcare & Education (CACHE) in Toronto. Through CACHE, there are a variety of interprofessional education tools and supports available to individuals and teams who wish to improve their interprofessional collaboration (IPC). These opportunities include individualized coaching and consultation, workshops, and more intensive programs to improve understanding and practice of IPC, and guides and tools to support team processes.

Below are some of the supports the CACHE team is offering for the team primary care initiative. We invite anyone to reach out if they have questions, or would like to inquire about coaching, consulting, or other professional development opportunities available through CACHE. You can reach us at: ipe.info@utoronto.ca

Individualized Team Process

If you are interested in a more individualized and structured program to improve your team functioning, we suggest enrolling in our individualized team process. This is a process whereby you and your current team members first complete a self-assessment of current IPC competency, followed by a team meeting. At this team meeting you will create goals and action plans for your team to follow to optimize IPC and team functioning. There will be follow-up meetings to promote reflection on the successes in working towards your goals and to promote create new goals.

If you are interested in engaging in this process, please email Sarah Gregor, IPE Scholar at gregos9@mcmaster.ca
