Oak Park Fall Tree Stroll
Sunday, October 22, from 2 to 3 p.m.
Corner of 100 block of South Scoville and South Boulevard (roughly 104 S. Scoville) in Oak Park

Trees are full of beauty, joy and mystery, not to mention important for helping our community be a healthy place for humans and wildlife alike.

Enjoy a 1 hour walk and learn about Oak Park’s stately street trees.
--Learn how to identify them by their leaves, bark and branching.
--Make tree bark rubbings (materials supplied)
--If you walk, roll or bike to the event, get a free plant or be entered to win "Go Hug a Tree" artwork by local artist Imani @Theepitohme


We are honored to be led by these three experts:

Trinity Pierce is the Stewardship Manager of Chicago Region Trees Initiative and an ISA Certified Arborist. She grew up in Oak Park.

Adrian Ayres Fisher is a board member of West Cook Wild Ones and a site steward for National Grove Woods, a Cook County Forest Preserve.

Theresa Radke is Volunteer Program Specialist with the Cook County Forest Preserves.

This event is put on by Climate Ready Community Outreach to Oak Park (COOP), a group of organizations helping to do outreach around the Climate Ready Oak Park sustainability plan approved by Village Trustees in August 2022: One Earth Local, Black Residents of Oak Park, Oak Park Disability Access Commission, Arbor West Neighbors, West Cook Wild Ones, Oak Park Climate Action Network, One Earth Young Filmmakers Contest, Oak Park River Forest Environmental Club, Beye School Green Team, Bike Walk Oak Park, Deep Roots Project, Interfaith Green Network, Your Passion 1st, Go Plastic Free, Oak Park Regional Housing Center, Oak Park Public Library and  the Village of Oak Park Sustainability Office.
