The president tweeted a black-and-white meme which showed him seated and pointing toward the camera with the words: 'In reality they're not after me, they're after you. I'm just in the way.'

Trump's pose in the photo appeared to be modeled after the iconic image of Uncle Sam saying: 'I want you for US Army.'

The meme is the president telling his followers that by attacking him the Democrats are in fact attacking them - and he is the only thing standing in the way.

In a glass-half-full move, Trump also relished that the Republicans voted en masse, but the Democrats saw some rebels.

'So we got - every single Republican voted for us. Woaahhh. Wow. Almost 200,' he said as he got word of the vote totals during the rally. 'We didn't lose one Republican vote. And, and, three Democrats for us,' Trump cheered.

The president had stepped onstage at the rally just minutes before the House's impeachment vote began.

'By the way, by the way, it doesn't really feel like we're being impeached,' Trump said at the start of his speech.

'I'm having a good time, it's crazy,' he remarked later, after the vote concluded.

Back in D.C., the first article of impeachment - abuse of power - sailed through with a 230 to 197 vote. The expected two Democrats voted with the GOP, who all voted no. Presidential hopeful, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, voted present. Another Democrat, Rep. Jared Golden, voted with the GOP on the second vote, obstruction of Congress, which passed with a vote of 229 to 198.

'The Democrats always stick together. Think of it - three Democrats went over to our side,' Trump marveled. 'That's unheard of.'

Rare are presidential impeachments, with Trump becoming the third president to ever hold the distinction.

That put him in a fighting mood - blasting his favorite enemies - and a protester too, calling one woman who flipped him the bird a 'slob' and a 'disgusting person.'

'I tell you these people are crazy,' he said of Congress, as the impeachment vote went on.

He touted Space Force, but added: 'Democrats do not like our military.'

He gave NBC's parent company, Comcast, a new name: 'Commie-cast.'

He even brought up Bill Clinton, the last president to be impeached, and mused whether Bill also calls Hillary Clinton Trump's nickname for her: 'crooked.'

'And I hear she wants to run again - wouldn't that be great?' he said of his former nemesis. A 'lock her up!' chant from supporters quickly followed.

Bill Clinton came up because the president was recalling how he tried to give his wife's campaign advice on where she should campaign, pointing to some of the Rust Belt states that tilted to Trump.

'So what happens, so what happens is Bill Clinton said to Crooked Hillary, her very dishonest wife, said, "Crooked Hillary" - Do you think he calls her Crooked Hillary? He might. Maybe he just calls her "Crooked." He said, "Crooked, I'm telling you, Crooked, I don't like what I'm seeing in Michigan. I don't like what I'm seeing in Wisconsin either,"' Trump riffed.
