It was fantastic to be back in Sydney for Immersive 2 of the Hatch: Taronga Accelerator Program. We enjoyed a high energy and inspiring session delivered by Chris Vagg and received some constructive feedback from Johnny Timbs and Harrison Wright on our draft funding pitches (thanks guys)! We managed to squeeze in a rainy beach clean up, 2 dinners, a wander around the zoo, lots of pitching practice and a early morning radio interview with ABC Newcastle Radio. It’s always great to catch up with our founding friends - Alice Kendall, Dr Elisa Raulings, Felix Toohey, Joseph Oliver Yap, Olivia Lee, Martin N., Shimroth John Thomas, Steven Owens and Gok Yılmaz. A big thanks to Christie Gazal for pulling it all together and making sure everything runs smoothly and Tom Allen, Impact Boom for continuing to support us all to be our best! Some lovely, recent recognition for the work I do in the Lake Mac community. At the recent Lake Mac Awards, I was honoured to named as ‘Volunteer of the Year’, to receive a Highly Commended for ‘Community Event of the Year’ for the Tiny Forest Community Plantings days and as was named as a finalist in the ‘Enviromenal Leader’ and ‘Lake Mac Ambassador’ award catergories. It was a fabulous evening surrounded by inspiring, hardworking local legends. Thanks Lake Macquarie City Council, Allambi Care and Avondale University

✨What a weekend!✨ Our Hatch Founders for 2024 came together for the program's first Immersive Workshop, onsite at the beautiful Taronga Zoo. With ideas flowing, our founders were treated to guest workshops from the brilliant Pip Kiernan GAICD (Clean Up Australia Ltd), who talked about the power of building a strong brand and the importance of being authentic in leadership. Warren Bingham, with insights into creating unshakable business leadership; James Crowther with tips on building founder resilience and self-care, and Sally Giblin from Be The Future sharing her phenomenal founder story. Impact Boom and Tom Allen also put our Founders through their paces to help build the foundations for success, whilst enjoying Taronga Conservation Society Australia's majestic animals, nature walks and stunning Wildlife Retreat. 📣 Watch the founders progress over the next few weeks which will culminate in the live Pitch Event on the 19 June at Taronga Zoo Sydney, 5:30-8:30pm AEST.
