Experience
Bryan is currently a member of the Army’s executive leader development team where he coaches senior commanders during warfighter exercises, teaches seminars on Joint/Interagency/Multi-national operation, and helps prepare new General Officers transition to strategic leadership.  Bryan has over 34 years of military experience with over 8 years working in multi-service and/or multi-national headquarters; he has 3 combat tours.  He commanded Army Engineer units from Company to Brigade and served as the 91st Commandant of Army Engineers.  

Bryan is a proven frontrunner in leading complex organizations through change.  He spearheaded and delivered the largest overhaul in engineer force structure, doctrine, and leader development in over 20 years while continuing to meet engineer demands in Iraq and Afghanistan. A consummate trainer and educator, Bryan oversaw the entry level training, professional education, and leader development of over 4000 Engineer Soldiers, Non-Commissioned Officers, and Officers per year.  As the Senior Military Engineer for U.S. and Allied Forces in Afghanistan, he managed a $12B military construction and civil reconstruction program.  He also developed, negotiated, and implemented an international base closure/transfer program that reduced allied bases by 40% and saved over $1.2B in construction costs, all while still supporting a dynamic combat operation. 

Bryan is a battle-tested expert in building and managing complex organizations during high-tempo crisis management.  As the Director of Operations in U.S. Africa Command, he managed over 14 major regional crises requiring extensive coordination with interagency and international partners prior to gaining approval by national leadership.  He was the chief architect of the US military assistance to the 2013 Ebola Crisis that halted the pandemic in 6 months, remained well within Presidential force limits, and executed 30% under the $1.1B budget.  Bryan is practiced in international partnerships with experience in Asia, Middle East, Europe, and Africa.  A true servant leader, Bryan enjoys leading organizations through complex problem solving, strategy formulation, and turning vision into reality.  He is a very adept communicator who has a passion for teaching, coaching, and inspiring others.
